Anthony Liftgates don't break often, but even the most rugged parts don't last forever. Damage or normal wear and tear can interfere with normal liftgate operation. Platform lowers slower than normal.  

Possible Cause #1 In line flow control valve out of adjustment.
Action -

Readjust flow control valve (inside of pump box, in line of hydraulic hose. One valve is for open and close speed, the other is for lowering speed).

 

(Diagnosis time - 0 / Repair time - 15 minutes).

Part Numbers - N/A
Possible Cause #2 Oil is too thick (possibly because of cold weather).
Action - Replace current hydraulic oil with a lower viscosity hydraulic oil. (Pennzoil Arctic or Dextron II if not available).

(Diagnosis time - 0 / Repair time - 30 minutes).
Part Numbers - N/A
Possible Cause #3 Clogged or (restricted) lowering valve. (Located in valve block).
Action -

Clean and inspect lowering valve, re-install. (Replace if needed).

 

(Diagnosis time - 15 minutes/ Repair time - 30 minutes).

3 Years on mechanical structure.

2 Years on hydraulic & electrical components.

Warranties are void if genuine Anthony parts are not used.
